A massive search effort is entering its fifth day in Bexar County, Texas, as authorities and volunteers scramble to find 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos. Last seen in the early hours of Wednesday, December 24, Olmos vanished from her home in the 11000 block of Caspian Spring in northwest Bexar County, leaving behind her vehicle and her cell phone.
Surveillance footage captured around 6:58 a.m. on Wednesday shows an individual believed to be Olmos searching inside her vehicle for an unidentified item. Investigators say her car remained at the residence, leading them to believe she left on foot carrying only her car keys and possibly her driver’s license. Her mother, Rosario Olmos, noted that while Camila frequently took morning walks, she became alarmed when the teen did not return. Adding to the family’s concern, Rosario discovered Camila’s phone turned off and left on her bed—an act described by friends as completely out of character for a young woman who was “always on the phone.”
The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a CLEAR Alert, categorizing Olmos as “possibly endangered.” On Saturday night, the community gathered for a standing-room-only vigil at Oak Hills Church to pray for her safe return. Search teams, including drones and K-9 units, have been methodically scouring a three-mile radius around her home.
Camila is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie with baby blue accents, baby blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at (210) 335-6000.
