The confrontation marks the deepest rift to date between Carlson and the administration. While Carlson previously opposed both impeachment proceedings against Trump, he now contends that any leader contemplating tactical nuclear options in the Iran conflict poses a threat to human survival.
Carlson’s claims center on allegations that tactical nuclear strikes were discussed within defense circles following heightened rhetoric between Washington and Tehran. He pointed specifically to Trump’s earlier warning that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran failed to meet U.S. demands, interpreting the phrase as a direct nuclear threat.
