U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a forceful warning concerning Iran, declaring that the United States has control over the Strait and suggesting that any further action could carry serious consequences for Tehran.
In remarks focused on Iran and the strategic waterway, Trump said, “We OWN [the Strait]!” He also warned that if Iran takes certain actions, the response could be severe, stating that “at some point, maybe they’ll do something and then they get BLOWN away.”
Trump also made clear that he does not trust the Iranian government, rejecting any suggestion that he considers Tehran a reliable partner. “I don’t trust IRAN,” Trump said. Asked why, he responded, “Are you saying I trust IRAN? I’m the LAST person that trusts IRAN.” He accused Iran of repeatedly deceiving him, adding, “They’ve lied to me CONSTANTLY.”
The president further emphasized what he described as the United States’ control over the situation, declaring, “THEY DON’T HAVE CONTROL — WE HAVE CONTROL.”
Trump’s comments underline his hard-line position toward Iran and his warning that the United States would respond forcefully if he believes American interests or control over the Strait are threatened. His remarks come amid heightened attention surrounding Iran and the strategically important waterway, where developments can carry significant geopolitical consequences.
