Russian military forces launched a massive drone strike targeting one of Europe’s largest beverage production facilities, causing severe damage to the Coca-Cola plant in Velyka Dymerka near Kyiv. While the daytime bombardment resulted in extensive property destruction, company officials confirmed that all employees evacuated safely and no casualties were reported.
“We confirm that our production facility in Brovary was damaged in a drone attack,” Coca-Cola stated following the assault, emphasizing that employee safety remains its primary concern as damage assessments continue alongside local authorities.
In his evening national address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asserted that the choice of target was a deliberate geopolitical statement rather than an accidental strike. Zelenskyy argued that targeting a prominent American brand demonstrates Moscow’s willingness to hit major Western commercial assets.
“Today, the Russians struck a Coca-Cola plant with their drone… A clear Russian signal to America — the Russians cannot help but know that this is an American enterprise,” Zelenskyy stated.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha similarly condemned the destruction of foreign corporate property, warning that targeting peaceful commercial operations undermines broader diplomatic and peace efforts. The strike marks the latest instance of international corporate infrastructure sustaining heavy damages during ongoing regional hostilities.
